Erosion & Sediment Control Field Day #1
Thursday 19 October 2017
8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
URI East Farm | Kingston, RI
swcssnec.org/2017esc

Presented in conjunction with primary organizer Team EJ Prescott and partners RI Department of Environmental Management, RI Nursery & Landscape Association, RI State Conservation Committee and IECA Northeast Chapter.

A full day of training for professionals working in soils, erosion control, water quality, public works, engineering, roads, planning and consulting.

This is a terrific learning opportunity as well, so STUDENTS attend for FREE*, courtesy of the RI Nursery & Landscape Association.

*registration is required

Sediment is the world’s #1 pollutant. Soil moved by erosion can be harmful to our drinking water resources and our fish & wildlife habitat, and can impact our quality of life. We all need to know our options, both for controlling sediment and for designing & installing more effective long term erosion control solutions.

This field day is a unique collaborative effort between the private and public sectors to share information and promote a better understanding of the latest tools available to all who are entrusted with protecting our precious soil and water resources.

The day will start with classroom presentations and then move outdoors for small group sessions in a hands-on demonstration setting. Our goal is to provide information that is immediately useful to all who attend. Credits will be awarded; see details, below. For up-to-date information, go to swcssnec.org/2017esc.

Register now using a credit card, check or invoice. Instructions for check/invoice will appear after payment method is selected.

The Southern New England Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society (SNEC-SWCS) is a 501 (c) (3) organization whose purpose is to promote, educate and advance all phases of the science of conservation of soil, water and all related resources.  The SNEC became a Charter Chapter on December 8, 1946 by a vote of the Soil Conservation Society of America (now SWCS) at their Council Meeting in Chicago, IL.  The Chapter was incorporated in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on July 27, 1981 and received IRS Tax-Exempt Status later that year.  SNEC serves the geographic area of Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  A Board of Directors elected by the membership governs the Chapter.  There is an SWCS UConn Student Chapter and an SWCS UMass Amherst Student Chapter; the SNEC will subsidize 50% of SWCS Student Membership fees (UConn, UMass or SNEC).
